Re-live the “iconic” moment that Jelly Roll and Priscilla Block covered a Southern rock classic.
Priscilla Block joined Jelly Roll during his set at Country Concert in Fort Loramie, Ohio over the weekend for a surprise duet.
Luckily, a member of Block’s team filmed the memorable moment and shared it on her Instagram.
“Does it get any better than singing an iconic song with the iconic @jellyroll615 country concert, you were somethin special,” Block captioned the clip.
In the video, Jelly Roll welcomed Priscilla Block to the stage in the midst of his performance at the popular country music festival on Saturday (July 8). The rowdy crowd, full of die hard country music fans, erupted with excitement as Block made her entrance.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the incredible Miss Priscilla Block is gonna come out here with me tonight,” Jelly Roll said, introducing the “Just About Over You” singer to the stage.
Together, the pair performed one of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s iconic hits, “Simple Man.” Block confidently took on lead vocals for the track as the genre-bending star praised her, “get it girl.”
“Y’all make some noise for Miss Priscilla Block everybody,” Jelly Roll told the massive crowd as Block exited the stage. “Love you sis.”
“Simple Man” is featured on Lynyrd Skynyrd’s debut album, (Pronounced ‘Lĕh-‘nérd ‘Skin-‘nérd). The song is one of the best-known tracks from the Southern Rock band, who is also known for “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Free Bird,” and more.
Country Concert ‘23 also featured performances by Luke Bryan, Tracy Lawrence, ERNEST, Ashley Cooke, Bailey Zimmerman, HunterGirl, Chase McDaniel, Dierks Bentley, Tim McGraw, Jon Pardi, Carly Pearce, Drew Green, Brothers Osborne, Jordan Davis, Elle King, Pillbox Patti, Chase Matthew, Tyler Booth, Cooper Alan and more.
During the show, Block watched Jelly Roll’s set and shared a clip to her Instagram stories, writing “there’s no one like him.”
Following the event, Jelly Roll reposted her story with a message of gratitude for Block.
“Love you Priscilla! Thanks for singing with me @priscillablock,” he wrote via his Instagram Stories.
Priscilla Block has formed a friendship with Jelly Roll and his wife, Bunnie XO. Earlier this year, they posed together for a photo at Country Radio Seminar (CRS) in Nashville. Block shared the snapshot on Instagram with a hilarious caption.
“Gonna tell my kids this is my mom and dad 😂 sorry mom and dad,” she wrote.
Bunnie was quick to reply back with the comment, “Sweetest daughter of ours 🤣💜💫 .” Jelly Roll also added in an emoji with tears of joy.
Block also appeared on Bunnie XO’s Dumb Blonde Podcast.
In November of 2022, Jelly Roll joined Lynyrd Skynyrd for an unforgettable performance.
“I got to sing a song with Lynyrd Skynyrd this weekend…. I can’t even begin to describe how this feels man… the nicest people on earth too btw,” he wrote at the time. ”Songs I’ve literally listened to my ENTIRE life. This is completely unreal..”
2023 has been quite an eventful year for both Priscilla Block and Jelly Roll.
Block is currently making her way up the charts with “You, Me, And Whiskey,” her duet with Justin Moore. The song is sitting inside the Top 10 and continues to make moves.
Meanwhile, Jelly Roll recently earned his second No. 1 hit at Rock radio with “Need A Favor,” following “Dead Man Walking.” He also earned his first-ever chart-topping hit at Country radio with “Son Of A Sinner.”
Later this year, the 38-year-old singer/songwriter will embark on his first headlining arena tour, dubbed The Backroad Baptism Tour. The 44-city trek kicks off on Friday, July 28 at Bank Plus Amphitheater in Southhaven, Mississippi and runs through Saturday, October 14, where the trek will wrap up in Tampa, Florida at MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre.
