Moroney stunned in her glamorous light blue gown from The Showroom Nashville, which was decorated top to bottom in sequins and featured a feather trim. Artists including Nate Smith, Riley Green, Priscilla Block, Travis Denning, Jordan Davis, Danielle Bradbery, and Chapel Hart stopped by to take part in a variety of games such as a lyric challenge, which tested their knowledge of lyrics from CMA-nominated songs of the early 2000s.

Here’s how it worked: Moroney read a line from songs like “Amazed” by Lonestar, “People Are Crazy” by Billy Currington, “Redneck Woman” by Gretchen Wilson, “How Do You Like Me Now” by Toby Keith and more, and the artists were tasked with finishing the lyric. Overall, they passed the test and solidified their devotion to the genre.

The “Tennessee Orange” singer/songwriter also pitted this year’s CMA co-hosts together for a CMA Co-Host Showdown. Artists were asked a series of questions that promoted them to choose between this co-hosts, former NFL star, Peyton Manning and country superstar, Luke Bryan.

One of the hard-hitting questions included, “If you had to be stranded on an island with one of the two, who would you pick and why?”

Bryan was a popular choice for this debate, even for Moroney who said, “for the record, I would probably be stranded on an island with Luke Bryan because he could hunt and also gather, and we could write some songs together.”

A select few artists including Riley Green, Jelly Roll, and O.N.E The Duo did select Manning as their island partner.

Our guest host also asked a few other questions such as, who’s most likely to forget their wife’s birthday, who’s most likely to win a hot dog eating contest and who’s most likely end up on a reality show.

Once the games commenced on the red carpet, Moroney got the chance to sit back, relax, and enjoy watching the CMA Awards, which featured performances from Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Cole Swindell, Cody Johnson, and Carly Pearce.

Co-hosted by Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning, the 2022 CMA Awards broadcasted live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena and aired on ABC (8:00-11:00 PM/ET).

The CMA Awards are available for viewing on Hulu now.

The Georgia native has continued to rack up views on social media by posting covers and original songs like her most popular release to date, “Tennessee Orange.” The fan-favorite song was streamed one million times in just five days, an impressive nod for an independent artist.

After graduating from Georgia, Moroney packed up and moved to Nashville in the midst of 2020. She used her free time to write her debut EP, Pistol Made of Roses, which was produced by Sugarland’s Kristian Bush.

Megan Moroney is currently on the road in support of Warren Zeiders headlining Up To No Good Tour. Her next performance is set for November 12 in Madison, WI.
