W.A.S.P.’s show in Dallas, Texas gets shut down due to “occupancy being deemed too high”

W.A.S.P. were scheduled to perform live along with Michael Schenker and Armored Saint at Amplified Live in Dallas, Texas, USA yesterday night (on November 5, 2022) but W.A.S.P.‘s set was called off due to “occupancy being deemed too high” for the outdoor patio in question.

The following message was posted by Jimmy Adcock on the W.A.S.P. Nation Official Group‘s Facebook page:

WASP show in Dallas just got shut down by the Fire Marshall for being over-sold. Issuing refunds they said. Guess Dallas will have to wait another 10 years ☹️

Adcock also posted a video of a spokesperson stating to the crowd (as transcribed by Sleaze Roxx): “Trust me, I want you guys to have a great night but unfortunately the occupancy has been deemed too high on this specific patio [sounds of booing from the crowd]. I know guys. Listen, it is what it is. Everyone — guys, I appreciate the cheering and I am sure Blackie [Lawless] and his team do too. We would love nothing more than to have W.A.S.P. take the stage but unfortunately, that is not going to happen guys. So please head towards the exit. Guys, let me finish please. Everyone will get a full refund automatically. If you would kindly do me a favour and heads towards the exit, we would greatly appreciate it. Please do it peacefully [inaudible] and we’re sorry guys. Thank you.”

The See Tickets website indicates that W.A.S.P.‘s show at Amplified Live on November 5, 2022 was indeed sold out.

The internet lists various numbers for Amplified Live‘s capacity. A Google search for “Amplified Live capacity” indicates 1,200 people. The Amplified Live website indicates it boasts 5,588 square feet and can take 100 to 450 guests if you want to rent the venue. Eventective lists capacity for Amplified Live at 1,000 people while Venue Maps states capacity is 450 people.

Armored Saint and Michael Schenker were apparently able to perform before W.A.S.P.‘s set was called off.

  1. Who specifically was this “Promoter” we need a name. we deserve a name. Someone we can sue. I foresee a class action in the near future. Stood in line for 2 hours to get in. Drove 2 hours to the show and 2 hours back and the venue charged $10.00 for parking that they would not give back. Someone has to know a good lawyer that wants to score big with a class action suit on this “unnamed promoter”?
