Here are five specific instances where rappers were the subject of a practical joke that took things too far:

While in attendance at New York Fashion Week, Bronx-born YouTuber Buba100x was interviewing Brooklyn rapper Maino. Buba asked to try on his chain and the rapper, surrounded by his entourage, told him to try it. Eventually, things took a turn, and the rapper told Buba100x to be nice.

“On a scale from one to ten, how badly do you think I could beat your ass,” Buba asked as things took a turn.

Maino immediately choked him and dragged him into the crowd around them.

Since the incident, the “So Brooklyn” rapper claimed on Way Up with Angela Yee that the encounter was simply a prank and was intended “to make it look real.”

Lil Durk and Tekashi 69 have had an ongoing four-year-old beef. It began after Durk called the “Gummo” rapper a “snitch” for testifying against his former affiliation, the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods gang.

The “snitch” comment ignited a back-and-forth between the two artists. 69 later paying tribute to Durk’s late cousin and promoting his album on social media. When news broke of a Durk look-alike named Perkio, 69 and his crew jumped on the opportunity to reignite the flame.

Perkio, who also appeared in Durk’s video for “Blocklist,” was expecting to meet YouTuber SteveWillDoIt alone. However, in the video taken that same day, he is spotted being gifted a jacket by 6ix9ine and his crew.

A shot of the back of the jacket shows Durk’s late best friend, King Von, on the back.

The controversial and dubbed “toxic” couple Chrisean and Blueface are consistently making headlines for their rocky relationship, especially after assaulting one another. A few days after their heated appearance on the No Jumper podcast, the two released the track “Lit,” which opened with a snippet of the two on the show.

The quick release of “Lit” made many fans think the timing was to capitalize off their clout as a couple.

The Houston-bred AstroWorld rapper was the subject of a brief scandal after a photo of a look-alike kissing a woman surfaced. It appeared as though Travis Scott was cheating on his girlfriend Kylie Jenner

Scott replied to the Instagram post, “Shaking my f****ing head.”

On Twitter, Kim Kardashian posted:

“This is absolutely disgusting that you would find this funny to mess with Travis and Kylie, who just started a family together.”

A video by YouTuber Fode 1k features a man dressed to look like the “Pushin’ P” rapper,  with men also hired as his security detail.

As they walked through the mall, shoppers could be heard yelling “snitch” and “Free Young Thug” as they believed him to be the YSL rapper.

Shoppers began to get into his face, causing a disturbance, and going so far as to follow him.

On the latest episode of Caresha Please, Latto made her guest appearance alongside fellow rapper and friend Saucy Santana.

The “Soufside” rapper cleared the air and explained she was not the mastermind behind the pranks, which almost caused a rift between Latto and Saucy Santana.
