Space 92 and HI-LO Team Up for Techno Knockout, "Arpeggio"
Oliver Heldens said he created the melody of the new track back in 2012, when he was just 17.
Last year, Oliver Heldens’ HI-LO teamed up with innovative techno producer Space 92 to drop their chart-topping collab, “Mercury.” Now, the pair is back for more with “Arpeggio,” a heavy-hitting record featuring the signature dark and enthralling sounds of both artists.
“Arpeggio” coaxes with alluring soundscapes and heavy kicks, transporting us to a dusky warehouse. Infused with melodic elements that perfectly juxtapose the cavernous, thumping low end, the new track is sure to heat up any dancefloor—and it’s been a long time coming.
Heldens said he created the melody of the new track way back in 2012, when he was just 17.
“I made the melody of this track in 2012 when I was 17 and it just always stuck with me, but I never finished a track with it,” the Dutch dance music superstar said in a statement. “Until I showed it to Space 92 in Bali last year and we ended up finishing this idea together, and I couldn’t be happier with the end result! More melodic, melancholic and ‘dramatic’ than our previous collab ‘Mercury,’ I think ‘Arpeggio’ perfectly blends the worlds of ‘Afterlife’ melodic techno, trance and peak time techno, without losing any of that high-energy drive that also made ‘Mercury’ so effective.”
An extended mix of the track has also been released on HILOMATIK. Take a listen to “Arpeggio” below.
Both HI-LO and Space 92 recently played at RESISTANCE Miami during Miami Music Week 2023. The latter also appeared at Heldens’ Heldeep pool party.
HI-LO closed the week by performing at Ultra, going back-to-back with deadmau5’s alias, TESTPILOT, for a wild journey. He is currently on tour, as is the Beatport chart-topping Space 92, who will soon head to London, Los Angeles, Berlin and more.
