Rob Trujillo reveals the most favorite Metallica song ever for fresh metal music fans. Now we learn which Metallica song is Rob Trujillo‘s favorite. No, you got the wrong guess because it’s not ‘Nothing Else Matters.’
There are lots of different styles of songs of Metallica. But for introducing new fans, however, it’s difficult to choose which Metallica song is best for a starter pack. Also, this summer (2022) Metallica trying to get an attention of a bunch of fresh (Zoomer) ears as its iconic “Master of Puppets” song got featured in a crucial scene from the highly popular Netflix’s “Stranger Things” series. Now, Rob Trujillo admits the best Metallica song again.
We also just share which Metallica song is a favorite for James Hetfield: “The Unforgiven II”
Metallica bassist Rob Trujillo told Revolver in a recent interview that potential and new Metallica fans shouldn’t listen to the album’s iconic title track first. He chooses the song from the “Master of Puppets” album:
“For me that’s pretty easy: ‘Disposable Heroes’ off the Master of Puppets album. And the reason is because it’s really in a lot of ways. Especially in metal, the perfect balance of what I call ‘power groove.’
I liked that song before I even joined the band. I used to go running in the hills in the Santa Monica mountains to prepare for Suicidal Tendencies tours. I had three or four cassettes that motivated me: one of them was ‘Master of Puppets’, and then, like, ‘Reign in Blood’ and ‘Ride the Lightning’ were in there, too. That’s how I really, really dissected and discovered ‘Master of Puppets’.
‘Disposable Heroes’ has that groove that leans more in that sort of headbanging kind of funky zone … Slayer has that, too, with certain songs. And then at the same time it shifts gears, and you get the speed in there.
It’s very well-crafted and has a little bit of everything, well, not even a little bit, it’s got a lot of everything. It’s always one of my go-to classic Metallica songs. Now, I know some people call it a deep cut. But, “Disposable Heroes” would be my go-for-broke Metallica classic song right there, ’cause it has everything.”
Rob Trujillo reportedly ranked “Disposable Heroes” the finest Metallica gateway song, citing the “perfect combination” of what Trujillo dubbed “power groove.”
Because Metallica is one of the most well-known metal bands in the world, the great majority of people are aware of the band’s existence and have a general concept of what they sound like.
However, this implies that an important number of individuals will have badly incorrect ideas, making a thorough introduction much more vital than normal.
Recently, Trujillo also shares which band he is proud of:
“Timmy C killed it last night! So nice to catch up w/ the mighty groove master, and his tribe. Madison Square Garden got a funkified Ass kickin’ (in the best way) RATM throwin down as they always do! I was so proud of these dudes last night, they did their first ever tour opening for Suicidal just before the release of their first record in Europe, and here they are 30 years later selling out 5 shows at The Garden.”
