However, Drama’s mastery in scratching and keen ear for talent is one of the many things which has made him one of the greats.

A Little History

DJ Drama popped onto the scene in 2000, intending to dominate his craft. And it was Drama’s fierce skill and hustle mentality that put him in collaborative relationships with artists such as T.I. and Lil Wayne. The artist showed his tenacity early.

According to All Music, DJ Drama spent his time pushing out mix tapes as a young and hungry collegiate student. Subsequently, he built a solid reputation, lending to greater partnerships. Reportedly, his collaborative efforts during these years ran deep, lending to pairing with artists like Outkast, Dj Sense, and Cannon.

Project by project, DJ Drama built an indelible legacy. As a result, his imprint in the industry has carried such weight that he is credited in All Music as playing a pivotal role in the rise of some of rap’s MVPs.

DJ Drama wasn’t just a beast behind the turntables. Drama’s talents were expansive. He later shifted his focus to producing, working in A&R, and management. And it is that vast experience in the hip-hop industry that continues to position DJ Drama as a valuable community resource.
