New Music Fridays this week has R Kelly’s I Admit It, YG’s tribute to the dead but not forgotten, a feature by Lil Wayne whose dusky voice will never grow old and a surprise drop by Benny The Butcher.

Contrary to the first thought, the album is not an admission of guilt, as catchy as the title is. R. Kelly is currently behind bars, but Sony Music owns his catalog. Meanwhile, Sony has had the album removed from Spotify and Apple Music

According to the label, the release was premature, terming it a “bootleg” copy. 

Over the famous Lamont Dozier sample that provided the foundation for Outkast’s “Jazzy Belle,” MoneyBagg Yo details a string of short encounters and the little mind games that keep relationships hypnotizing.

YG’s new dro, which features the husky voice of Lil Wayne, is a bop and a half. Following his September release of I Got Issues, “Miss My Dawgs,” is a heartfelt tribute to friends lost along the way to stardom.

In the midst of losing deals, his billionaire status, getting divorced, and having his honorary degree revoked, Kanye has dropped a new song, “Someday, We’ll All Be Free.” It may be cryptic or a reference to the lost battle with brands, like Kyrie Irving’s canceled Nike contract for an action deemed antisemitic.

It has been an eventful year for Skaiwater. Right after a successful world tour with Lil Nas X, he has re-released his well-received mixtape, Rave. 

With new sounds and a more experienced Skai, the re-release includes crowd favorite “Two.” The 11-song mixtape also features the vocals of Lil Uzi Vert and Prentiss

Today, multi platinum powerhouse producer ATL Jacob and his Wicked Money Family artists have come together for a first joint work ahead of the holiday season- Wicked Money Family Christmas. The album is a 6-song introduction to the artists on the label.

Trillstaik 2 is Bun B & Statik Selektah second collaborative effort. It is said to have been recorded live in NYC and would be ready for release soon.
