Ozzy Osbourne pulls out of PowerTrip Festival due to continuing health issues
Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi was right after all. In an interview with Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation last month, the guitarist revealed that he had been approached to have Black Sabbath perform at the inaugural PowerTrip Festival, which will take place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, USA from October 6 to 8, 2023. However, Iommi wasn’t comfortable with Black Sabbath playing the PowerTrip Festival due to Ozzy Osbourne’s health issues. Iommi

later learned that Ozzy was going to perform at the PowerTrip Festival as a solo artist but now the 74 year old Black Sabbath frontman has pulled out of the festival citing his continuing health issues.
The inaugural PowerTrip Festival was to feature Guns N’ Roses and Iron Maiden on Day One, AC/DC and Ozzy on Day Two, and Metallica and Tool on Day Three.
SRO PR‘s press release indicates:
“As painful as this is, I’ve had to make the decision to bow out of performing on Power Trip in October.
My original plan was to return to the stage in the summer of 2024, and when the offer to do this show came in, I optimistically moved forward.
Unfortunately, my body is telling me that I’m just not ready yet and I am much too proud to have the first show that I do in nearly five years be half-assed.
The band that will be replacing me on Power Trip will be announced shortly. They are personal friends of mine and I can promise that you will not be disappointed.
Above all, I want to thank my fans, my band, and my crew for their unconditional loyalty and continual support.
I love you all and I will see you soon.
God Bless,
Ozzy“
