We’ve done an interview with Lazy, a humble songwriter, producer, artists with years of experience creating music.
Lazy says his end goal is to continue to bring HOT tracks to the world! “I hope you are along for the journey & enjoy the Sounds Of Lazy”
Lisa: Hi Lazy! What first got you into music? Ever since I can remember
Lazy La: I’ve been in love with music. At an early age it became a passion of mine. I think having natural talent helped. You know everyone has a gift from God. My mom and grandmother gave me voice lessons and bought me a piano at age 12.
Lisa: What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?
Lazy La: I would be doing what I am now… managing a business or organization.
Lisa: How would you describe the music that you typically create?
Lazy La: My music comes from everyday life experiences turned into song.
Lisa: What is your creative process like?
Lazy La: I hear the song in my head at a high level from the beat to the melody and then go and lay down the track.
Sometimes it hits me so I pull out my phone and record a quick version, so I don’t lose the moment. Other times the sound doesn’t leave my thoughts and I know “I have one!!”
Lisa: I really loved your song “Round And Round”. Can you tell me more about it? What’s it about, and how did you get inspiration to write it?
Lazy La: Thanks! The song is about a relationship a lot of us can relate to. A lot of things can have a direct impact on our relationships. It was inspired by the conversations and observations I’ve had when talking with friends, or from my own experiences. A solid lasting relationship takes work and is constantly challenged in today’s world.
Lisa: What is one message you would give to your fans?
Lazy La: My number one goal is to make you feel good about music again! 2020 was tough so let’s get inspired and feel good again…LET’S JAM!!
Lisa: Who are some of your favorite artists or rather, what musicians have continued to inspire you and your music? Who would you absolutely still love to work with in the future?
Lazy La: Oh, that’s tough… but Stevie Wonder, Babyface, Brian McKnight, B.I.G, Joe, Journey, Bruno Mars, and Mary J. Blige would be a good start. Would absolutely love to work with Babyface, Boney James, Drake, Chris Brown, H.E.R, and many more…
Lisa: What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?
Lazy La: Burning down my mom’s bed as a kid.
Lisa: What is the best advice you’ve been given?
Lazy La: Put GOD first and the rest will be added to you!
Lisa: What are you currently working on, and what’s next for you?
Lazy La: Currently working on releasing 3 new singles (Betta, Social Distance, I miss You) and continuing to build music bank. Should have a video soon as well. Also working on a production deal before 2021 is over. With the goal of being recognized as a songwriter/producer, I have been in discussions with various artist to discuss future collaborations. Hopefully these happen sooner than later. I am stoked!!
Lisa: At the end of the day, what do you hope people take away from your music?
Lazy La: I want people to say “man that’s my jam” every time you hear a joint by Lazy La!
