Meet Mathias, 21 Years old musician born in Santiago de Chile living in Germany. Inspired by Bad Bunny, Mathias is making Spanish and German Trap music.

Lisa: Hi Mathias! How did it all start for you?

Mathias: It all started when I visited my family in Chile in 2012. There, my uncle Sebastian showed me Hip Hop from Chile and taught me to Spray Graffiti. When I wanted to get in the plane back with my Mum my uncle have me a Notebook with the words “listen to rap, draw and write”. From then in I started to be interested in Songwriting and freestyling.

Lisa: How would you describe the music that you typically create?

Mathias: Its more difficult than It seems to describe my music. Mainly I do trap and reagetton. The Songs can be deep or be party banger. But what I dont like is to wrote about violence and stuff like that. Cant identify with that type of music.

Lisa: What is your creative process like?

Mathias: My music is very dependent from my mood. When Im sad Its more likely that I produce a dark and deep song, If I’m happy and feel like partying that’s the type of Songs that come out. Then I look for beats that Kind of represent my mood.

Lisa: I really loved your song “Mi Ganga”. Also, a very neat video. Can you tell me more about it? What’s it about, and how did you get inspiration to write it?

Mathias: Very glad you liked the song, I really appreciate that. “MiGanga” is a song about the “normal” life or Routine being annoying. You’re bored, have problems to solve and that over and over again. So sometimes you just got to turn the world off and hang out with your “gang” you know? Having a good time. I came up with the idea because I was at that point. I felt like Routine and responsibilities were eating me up. As soon as I finished the hook and my Verse I already knew who I wanted to ask to jump on the track. Daris and Sheerin. I knew that that would be the perfect combination! I got inspired by the structure of the song “I like it” by Cardi B, Bad Bunny and j Balvin.

Lisa: If you could choose to work with some of today’s established artists or producers, to move your game to the top, with whom would you like to collaborate?

Mathias: 100% Tainy and Bad Bunny

Lisa: What is one message you would give to your fans?

Mathias: Money is not everything in life. Always to focused on what makes you happy, the one thing that helps you to turn off everything around you, because that one thing is it.

Lisa: Which famous musicians do you admire?

Mathias: I’m a huge bad bunny Fan. I think of him as my idol

Lisa: What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?

Mathias: Okey that, I would like to keep for myself, hehe

Lisa: What is the best advice you’ve been given?

Mathias: You can’t help everyone, just the ones that let themself be helped

Lisa: What are you currently working on, and what’s next for you?

Mathias: I’m working on a lot of things right now actually, a lot of new songs are on the way, musicvideos and at the moment I’m creating a song for the “Spread Love” Campaign. Thats what Im looking forward to the most!

Lisa: At the end of the day, what do you hope people take away from your music?

Mathias: I hope that people not only listen to my music, but listen to what I say and the lyrics. Understand my view of the world. Understand that music can change a lot of things. The combination of melody and Text. The combination of german and spanish. 2 cultures give 1 vibe.

Thank you!
