Listen to ODESZA's First Remix in 8 Years, a Haunting Twist of Sudan Archives' "Selfish Soul"

ODESZA’s last remix came in late 2015, when they reworked “Divinity” for Porter Robinson.

Renowned singer-songwriter and violinist Sudan Archives has joined forces with ODESZA for a stunning remix of “Selfish Soul.”

ODESZA laced their haunting sound design through Archives’ signature violin patterns in the new remix, the duo’s first in eight years. Their visceral production is the perfect fit for the contemplative lyricism of “Selfish Soul,” which uses women’s hair as a motif to express their search for identity in a world that distorts conceptions of beauty.

ODESZA’s last remix came in late 2015, when they reworked “Divinity” for Porter Robinson’s Worlds (Remixed) LP. Take a listen to their take on “Selfish Soul” below.

ODESZA’s remix of “Selfish Soul” arrives in the wake of a momentous surprise DJ set on Saturday at Coachella’s DoLab, where the superstar electronic duo debuted it live. Archives followed with a Coachella performance of her own on Sunday.

“‘Selfish Soul’ was incredibly inspiring to us and we’re grateful to be a part of it,” ODESZA said in a statement.
