Jay-Z recently invested in a startup aiming to make robot food trucks that can create pizzas from scratch.
The rapper and business mogul seems to be taking a slice out of Lil Yachty’s pie.
Months after launching the Bitcoin Academy, the “Everything Is Love” artist is now adding pizza chain owner to his hyphens.
His firm, Marcy Venture Partners, recently invested $16.5 million in Stellar Pizza, a Los Angeles-based startup that sells ready-to-eat pies made by robots.
Much like modern chains like Domino’s or Pizza Hut, orders can be placed through their mobile app. Once placed, mechanical arms begin making the pizza.
When the arms are done adding the necessary ingredients and baking, employees cut up and box the slices before serving them to customers.
Stellar Pizza holds all the main components for pizza-making on a moving truck to send out pies more timely and efficiently.
CEO and co-founder of Stellar Pizza, Benson Tsai, and a group of former Space X engineers designed the first robot pizza truck.
A report from the Rolling Stone indicates that they plan to debut the truck at the University of California.
In an interview with Inside Edition, Tsai stated:
“Ultimately, for me, it’s about solving problems wherever they are…Affordable access to high-quality fresh foods is not something that is readily available for everyone.”
Stellar Pizza’s goals are to cut down on the cumbersome costs usually associated with the fast food industry.
Last month, Lil Yachty launched his first pizza brand, Yachty’s Pizzeria. It is the first premium frozen pizza offered by Deep Cuts.
Universal Music Group’s partnership division created the brand.
“I’ve loved making and eating pizza my whole life, so this is a project I’m really excited about and have been for a long time,” said Lil Yachty.
Yachty’s Pizzeria has four flavors: Buffalo Style Chicken, Hot Honey Cheese, Pepperoni and Bacon, and Veggie Supreme.
