Jake Owen powered through his weekend shows on his headlining Up There Down Here Tour, but an illness ultimately landed him in the hospital following the weekend run.

The country hitmaker took to social media to recap the run of shows with a “full disclosure” caption where he revealed that he “ended up back in the hospital” after playing three consecutive shows (Mankato, MN, Kearney, NE, and Ottumwa, IA).

Owen said he “pretended to feel well all weekend” but did not go into detail about what symptoms he experienced.

He did, however, thank those who are always in his corner.

“I have a lot of people that love and support me. I’m very thankful/grateful for you,” he shared.

He went on to point out “just because there’s a smile on someone’s face, doesn’t mean they aren’t goin thru something.”

He continued, “That’s what I think about when I see you in the crowd..”What are they goin through? How can I lift them up?” I can see through the smile sometimes. You guys lift me up. Tbh, it was everything I could do to not pass out on stage last night. I got through it though because I know how lucky I am to do this for a living… I’m not dialing it in. I want to thank my entire crew and team for supporting me on stage and off.”

Despite feeling under the weather, Owen promised that he’s “gonna be good” and shared his gratitude to those who have reached out to him.

“Sometimes as men, we are stubborn.. I know for a fact I am. I push it to the limits. I always have. I always will….But most importantly I’ve got two little girls that need me to be there for them and the best I can be. So that’s what I’m doin… I’m workin on me.”

Fans showed their support for the Florida native within the comments section.

“Hope all is ok ! You are loved by sooo many and I’m glad you’re taking care of yourself. Well deserved family time always is good for the soul,” one Instagram user wrote, while another shared, “Sending positive vibes your way! Get well ❤️‍🩹 soon!”

Owen announced the tour in the spring and shared, “Looking forward to getting back out there, bringing smiles and happiness and some new tunes. The world needs more of that.”

The “Up There Down Here” singer is scheduled to return to the road on Thursday, November 3 with a show at the Maverik Center in West Valley, Utah.

“I’ll be back out here stronger than ever next time I hit the stage. You can damn sure count on that,” he promised.

Owen’s current tour is in support of his latest single and features support from Travis Denning and Mackenzie Carpenter.

“Up There Down Here” follows Owen’s 10th chart-topping single, “Best Thing Since Backroads.” The song is climbing the charts at country radio now and is expected to be included on Owen’s yet-to-be-announced new album along with tracks like  “Fishin’ On A River,” and “1×1.”
