Meet Young G, he’s originally from Liberia,Grewup in Trenton NJ moved to Charlotte North Carolina at 16, and his father passed when he was 17. These hard times gave him more inspiration to do what he loves the most. Young G will be dropping 14 tracks on his first abum soon.
Lisa: Hi YOUNG G! What first got you into music? What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?
Young G: What got me into music was i got tired of listening to trash,me n my Xgurlfriend will listen to music all day every day, I used to freestyle of beats, she be like u sound better than lots of rappers out here, lots of people around me will tell me like you sound better then alot of of these rappers out here. The second think is, i was very disappointed after my tryouts, went my number was never call, N I know I was like the best player on my team. I Told myself am not going out like that, gotta be something, start to linkup with some producer, like OHzone, Alexander, epistra, and YG, They had some nice beats, am like I can really write some nice of these beats, went I drop my first 6 track’s, have alot of people listening to it and everyone was like u nice.
Lisa: How would you describe the music that you typically create?
Young G: If it wasn’t for music, Spending lots of time with my kids, going to school for a better career to take care of my family n a fulltime job, am actually starting school next month, going to full sale university for audio production.
Lisa: What is your creative process like?
Young G: My creative process just different Obstacles I overcome in life, just put it into Poetry and have it sound nice on the beat.
Lisa: I really loved your song “Winners Rough”. Can you tell me more about it?
What’s it about, and how did you get inspiration to write it?
Young G: The song winners, thanks by the way, is one of my favorite too, in life I was told lots of time I won’t be nothing, folks will always talk down on me, trash talk and all, I Express my actions better than words, that’s how I was raised. Just want to let everyone know that no matter what u are going though, you can overcome Obstacles because we all winners in life, don’t matter where u from, or what color you are we all go through problems and become winners out of our hard times.
Lisa: You’ve had a very rough period after your dad passed away from a heart
attack. What was that period like for you? And how much is your music
inspired by that period of time?
Young G: When my dad pass it was definitely a tough time in my life, situation like that break u or make u, but it didn’t do nothing but make me stronger, this goes for everyone in any part of the world that lost someone, love yourself, be thankful and stay consistent doing something that makes u happy, u gonna overcome those sad times.
Lisa: What is one message you would give to your fans?
Young G: One thing I will tell my fans is stay Alert for alot of hit’s, i’ma always give u something nice, anything I put out will never be trash because i love n like the music I put out, it makes Sense we all can learn from it n have fun.
Lisa: Which famous musicians do you admire?
Young G: Man that’s a tough question, I adire lots of musician PAC, biggie, jay-z NAS, The lox, 50cent, snoopdog TI, lil Wayne, Eminem, Young Jeezy, Ludacris, Rick Ross, Drake, wiz khalifa, n meek Mills
Lisa: What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?
Young G: The most trouble I have ever gotten into was went I was a teenager, in my Earliest twenties, but I never repeated my mistakes u live n learn.
Lisa: What is the best advice you’ve been given?
Young G: The best advice I got was staying consistent doing what makes u happy.
Lisa: What are you working on right now?
Young G: Working on going to the studio recording my next 8tracks, already started on my new project.
Lisa: What’s next for you?
Young G: What’s next for me is starting school, want my to get heard on different platforms, more interview and more followers.
