Lisa: What is the mission of L.A The Player?

L.A. The Player: To deliver good music to the world and demonstrate my hustle the player way.

Lisa: How would you describe the music that you typically create?

L.A. The Player: Smooth vibes, Bass heavy, let the windows down, hit the gas and ride music. Basically.

Lisa: What is the message you are trying to give with your music?

L.A. The Player: That being “Player” about all situations allows you to overcome obstacles. By being player I mean taking time to calm down and not move emotionally but use rational thinking.

Lisa: Do you get creative blocks? If so, what do you do to move past them?

L.A. The Player: Yea I get blocks. I take a break. Clear my mind. Usually inspiration finds me then I run with it.

Lisa: You’re latest single “Play the Game” is really good. What inspired you to write it?

L.A. The Player: Honestly, it was a song that I was sending out for a feature. I never heard back yay or nay. So I decided to finish it myself and show how the game is played and “Play The Game” Was Born.

Lisa: What can we expect from you upcoming release “Son Of Superfly”?

L.A. The Player: LA The Player at his best! Groovy jams that will not disappoint. Giving the world the soundtrack to my life.

Lisa: How do you balance the performative/creative side of making music with the technical side of engineering it?

L.A. The Player: It’s not easy thats for sure.

Lisa: What is the most useless talent you have?

L.A. The Player: I can down a half pint of Hennessy in one drink lol. no ice no chaser. (That is completely useless.) Because I’m sleep usually shortly after that lol

Lisa: Describe your approach to recording.

L.A. The Player: Good groovy beats, Blue LED lights, plenty drinks, Mary jane, and let the groove take control.

Lisa: What non-musical entities and ideas have impacted your music?

L.A. The Player: Life in general. Lately especially , 2020 has given me more than enough reasons to create something good to hear or think about, because we all know 2020 has had a new trick month for month. No lie.

Lisa: What does your curiosity look like? How do you explore things?

L.A. The Player: Short answer: If I’m ever curious, I just go straight for whatever it is and find out if it’s really interesting or not.

Lisa: If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

L.A. The Player: I’d do away with the shady contracts and deals. Greed seems to be at an all time high. Sad.

Lisa: What’s next for you?

L.A. The Player: The World and everything in it. (In Tony Montana’s voice!)

Thank you!
