We invited 7th Ward Shorty to our studio for an interview:

ARN: How did you come up with a stage name?
7th Ward Shorty: Basically I’ve always wanted to remain authentic, real, down to earth. So, I felt it to be necessary to keep the name everyone has also referred to me by.

ARN: What are you focusing your time on now?
7th Ward Shorty: At the moment I’m just focused on my tour that I’m currently on and raking in this bread for my company so family and friends and the people I care will be good.

ARN: How do you currently feel about the state of Hip-hop in general?
7th Ward Shorty: The condition that hip hop is in is a weakened position. I am trying to change that.

ARN: Who influenced you most through out your career?
7th Ward Shorty: Eminem

ARN: What surprising lessons have you learned along the way?
7th Ward Shorty: Don’t trust men and women who never make eye contact during business discussions.

ARN: If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
7th Ward Shorty: NO MORE MUMBLE RAP
