Dave Mustaine wants to write and play new songs together with Metallica‘s frontman James Hetfield. Have two old friends had a chance to come back or not? Mustaine reveals in his latest interview what he desires with James Hetfield.

Recently, Dave Mustaine also regrets punching James Hetfield during the 80s: “I saw the thing with James Hetfield on stage where he was saying that he was going through a rough patch. I was sad to see that because it’s been one of those really weird love-hate relationships. And the whole reason that I ever even pursued any of this was I really liked those guys. If I didn’t like ’em, I would just say, ‘Fucking flush the toilet and be done with it.’

“He is always been somebody that I really liked playing with. I wished things wouldn’t have ended the way that they did. But que sera, sera (Spanish ‘Lo que será, será’ meaning in English ‘what will be, will be’).”

Now, he is talking with Andrew Daly of Vinyl Writer Music and tells he wants to compose songs with Hetfield. Dave Mustaine talked in a new interview with VWMusic. That he has been secretly wanting to re-connect with James Hetfield in a creative situation and really compose new songs with him.

Here is the Dave Mustaine interview: “I have been secretly hoping there’d be a day where James and I can write together again. I think the world really does want us to do that.

And I think there is a pretty good possibility of it happening down the line. I do think that it’s possible that one day James is going to come around and that he and I are going to be able to do something together again.

I guess that’s one of the things that has always kept me pushing forward. I think it’d be good for Megadeth, and it could be great for Metallica too.”

He also added:

“When you are not willing to give up, that’s when a lot of people can start to draw strength from you. And there have been many of my friends who are tough guys, too, but occasionally, they need somebody they can turn to. These are tough, independent guys, but they’ll say, ‘Dave, I need some advice,’ or, ‘I need someone to give me a hand here.’ And the thing is – and a lot of people get this wrong. There is nothing wrong with that; I do that all the time.”

In fact, I do it through prayer all the time, I do it almost daily through my profession, and I do it with some of my closest friends. I think it’s a good thing to give in relationships because it keeps the relationship flowing. And that’s why many of the songs I’ve written have been about relationships.”

Megadeth‘s album “The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead“! Megadeth also touring with Five Finger Death Punch on the road.
