Dave Curl has a new lyrics video for his summer hit “Summertime”, and it’s definitely worth checking out. Dave’s videos and streams are getting a lot of traction lately proving that hard work and quality are rewarded.

This song is about a young man going to an canary island for vacation and falling in love with a beautiful girl he sees working in a bistro. He would like to get to know her closer and starts dreaming about how they could meet and enjoy the summer vibes that fill the ocean air. Unfortunately, her reality is a bit different, she’s working off her butt to pay the rent and get through the week and doesn’t really have the time or energy for a love affair… . The song is composed as a “dialogue” between the two of them, him desperately trying to get to know her, her telling him to move on and that she doesn’t really have the time… .
I actually did write this song when I was staying in spring 2018 on the island of Teneriffa… I already had the basic chords and melody for the song and was looking for a good theme that would fit. Drifting through those lovely cafés and sunbathed walks set out on the shoreline of Teneriffa, I didn’t have to look far… . There absolutely was “magic in the air” and I guess I did fall in love with the place and people I stayed with!
