Dalton Dover Celebrates Living A ‘Damn Good Life’ In Latest Release

Dalton Dover has released his first single, “Damn Good Life,” since signing a global deal with Sony Music Publishing and Droptine Music Publishing.

Co-penned by Dover alongside his two buddies, Alex Maxwell and Jackson Free, “Damn Good Life” takes a break from the heartbreak ballads and represents the better things in life.

“That song, it was special,” he told Country Now. “We went into the writer’s room and we had written heartbreak songs all week and I’m just like, man, I just wanna write a song that makes people feel good. And ‘Damn Good Life” came about. This song literally wrote itself and you know, I just hope it makes people smile and just makes ‘em feel good. I guess it just makes you remember the little things in life.”

Between the optimistic narrative that Dover delivers through his crisp vocals and the carefree tune highlighted by the impressive guitar strum, nothing but a good time can be had when this song comes through the speakers.

Ahead of its official release, Dover has been teasing his new single on social media, earning a slew of positive responses.

“I knew that I was a special song, so I knew people was gonna love it. You know, I’m just glad that everybody’s just kind of responded to it the way that they have.”

He also revealed his excitement about bringing “Damn Good Life” on the road with him this fall when he serves as a special guest on Priscilla Block’s Welcome To The Block Party tour.

“I can’t wait to play it out, I’m so excited about that,” he shared. “I can’t wait to hear everybody sing it back to me.”

This will not be the first time these artists will get to share the stage. During Block’s recent tour, she and Dover had the chance to perform a cover of “Dixieland Delight” when she made a stop in his hometown of Rome, Georgia.

“We’ve met, we’ve hung out, you know, and I think it’s gonna be a great time. I think it’s gonna be a big old family out there on the road,” Dover shared in anticipation.

This upcoming trek follows his August residency at Blake Shelton’s Ole Red. During one of his Nashville shows, Dover received the surprise of a lifetime when the bar owner and his former The Voice coach, Shelton invited him to make his Grand Ole Opry debut on December 3.

“I was probably so thrown off guard that I like, honestly, like, I felt like a dream. Like I told myself, like, if something like that ever happened to me, that I would like not cry and like have any emotions or whatever. Yeah. But like, when he asked me, like, I was like, holy shit, like that really just happened, you know?”

Shelton became a mentor for Dover when he accepted the “No Body” singer’s invitation to join his team for season 16 of The Voice. Receiving this milestone news from him made the moment even more memorable for the 23-year-old singer.

“I knew that I might see him again, you know, after the show, but I didn’t know it would be like that. So it was really special for sure. I’ll hold it close to my heart for years to come. It was insane to say the least.”

Stepping into this exciting chapter of his career, Dover is reminded of his time on the singing competition show. Everything really started for him when Shelton turned his chair and saw the potential he had brewing.

“I remember my blind audition. It was kind of insane for me, you know? Like I love seeing people start that journey in their life ‘cause I know that their family is watching them, probably thinking the same thing my family did. It’s a new chapter for a lot of people, you know, it’s a blessing for me to be able to sit and watch the same thing happened to them that happened to me.”

After the show, he garnered a huge following on TikTok and started to obtain millions of views on his videos. As he continues to build his career and sees the new set of talent emerge on The Voice, Dover shared a few words of wisdom that he received from Shelton while on his team.

“I think it’s very important to enjoy the times and not kind of get caught up in the stress and stuff like that. The advice that Blake gave me and the advice that I would give to the new season of people that are coming in, you know, just enjoy this time. You only get this chance one time so take advantage of it. Just really enjoy it, take it in.”

Between all his accomplishments, nothing compares to the joy he gets from being a dad to his two kids, Taylor and Alyiah with his wife Faith. But that doesn’t mean balancing his job and his family isn’t a challenge at times.

“It’s been a task. I think I’ve done a great job at it so far,” he said honestly. “Luckily, my babies understand what I do. So it’s been fun. I think it’s cool for me ’cause my little girl sees me on TikTok and I feel like they go to school and tell to all their friends who their daddy is now.”

Dalton Dover teased he has even more music in the works, but for now, he’s enjoying dad life and preparing to hit the road with Priscilla Block. His first date on her extended tour is set for Oct. 13 in Liberty Township, OH and will continue through November.
