Carrie Underwood has secured three nominations for the 56th Annual CMA Awards, including the highest honor of the night, Entertainer of the Year, and fans are eager to see her finally take home the win.

This marks Underwood’s fifth time being nominated for EOTY (she scored nods in 2016, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022) and she has yet to take home the trophy.

For the 2022 CMA Awards, Underwood is vying for the win against Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, Chris Stapleton and Miranda Lambert.

After the exciting news was revealed on social media, fans instinctively took to the comment section to express their hopefulness that Underwood will be crowned the winner.

“Praying you win EOTY!!!! You’ve deserved it for years.. [In my opinion] you should have 3 of those trophies by now,” one person wrote on Instagram. “She better win entertainer of the year especially [because] she’s on tour and the concert I went to was the best night ever,” another follower mentioned.

One fan took things a bit further to confirm just how seriously they are taking this nomination when they wrote, “EOTY or we riot.”

On Wednesday (Sept. 7), it was revealed that in addition to this nomination, the “Ghost Story” singer is up for Female Vocalist of the Year and Musical Event of the Year for “If I Didn’t Love You” with Jason Aldean.

The eight-time GRAMMY winner also announced that she will be performing during “Country Music’s Biggest Night.” She plans to sing the second single from her album Denim and Rhinestones album, “Hate My Heart.” This song officially hit country radio on Monday (Oct. 31).

Jimmie Allen, Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Bryan, Kelly Clarkson, HARDY, Marcus King, Miranda Lambert, Carly Pearce, Carrie Underwood, Morgan Wallen, Lainey Wilson, and Zac Brown Band are among the other artists set to take the stage at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena for the country music event.

“It’s thrilling to celebrate these deserving nominees while our industry is returning to live music,” says Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer. “This year’s slate is impressive, with some nominees logging historic milestones while others are just getting started. No matter what stage in their career, they each bring a unique voice and unforgettable story to life, showing that Country Music is stronger than ever! We look forward to honoring them this November.”

Carrie Underwood is currently in the midst of her Denim & Rhinestones Tour, which kicked off Saturday, Oct. 15 with a sold-out concert at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina. Country star Jimmie Allen is joining her on the 43-city trek, which features a visually stunning production value that is unlike anything fans have ever seen from the Oklahoma native.

“Country Music’s Biggest Night” will be co-hosted by two-time CMA Entertainer Of The Year Luke Bryan and NFL superstar Peyton Manning. The 56th Annual CMA Awards is set to air LIVE from Nashville on Wednesday, November 9 (8-11 pm EST) on ABC.
