Brooklyn Hotspot SILO To Open Paying Homage To The Originators Of The Underground

A brand new Brooklyn hotspot called SILO is slated to open in February 2023 paying homage to the underground sound and those who originated it.

The 500-cap multi-genre music and event space was built in a converted hangar in East Williamsburg by NYC promoter duo Alex Neuhausen and Lilly Wolfson. They have countless experience and notoriety through their “Secret Loft” series, an underground party that began in a refurbished Brooklyn auto garage.

Now SILO is their latest project founded to be an immersive, carbon-neutral, multi-genre music and event space. Neuhausen holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and utilized his experience when building out the sound, lighting, and production for SILO.

The history of house and techno are also pivotal to the acts they book. Wolfson and Neuhausen share, “if you know your history, you know that dance music is queer, that it was invented by marginalized people seeking community, and that it’s inspired by and calls for a free and equal society. We’re looking to elevate the same underground communities and artists who have always broken new ground in dance music. ”

The first artist performing are a testament to this goal with the mesmerizing sounds of Josh Wink, the grooves of acid techno artist Hiroko Yamamura, and a special all-nighter with house music purveyor Eli Escobar.

SILO opens February 10, 2023 and tickets to the brand-new Brooklyn venue are available here.
